About him
I like being outdoors enjoying the beauty of nature, walking, jogging, gardening. When indoors I enjoy exploring eudaimonia (how to live well), meditation, listening to classical music, home improvements, and creative website design. I listen to a diverse range of podcasts and audiobooks.
I'm in good health - 24 minutes for 5K.

My background is Christian, but I have spent many years exploring Eastern religions and philosophies. I want to be able to continue to develop as a fully integrated human, and help others to do the same.
I am very concerned about the harm we are doing to Gaia, our Mother, and want to do what I can to protect her. My wife and I set up a charity to create a woodland nature reserve.
I had a happy childhood in Leeds, then went to university to study biology. Water treatment for a few years, took a break to work voluntarily for CND, then married. Worked in energy management. Developed a residential lettings business, and in 1999 gave up my regular job to do the house repairs, and to help with our children. My wife and I were happily married for 44 years. Because our lives together were such a pleasant experience, I know what's possible.
I am content at home and am not interested in a lot of holiday travel, dining out, or socializing.
I have been meeting a lovely lady for walking, talking, swimming, running, and gardening. Unfortunately she decided that she wanted a chap who could take her off on exciting holidays, etc, and wrote: "I believe you to be a lovely chap, decent and sincere ..., but ..."
I do have plans for what I must do over the coming years, but much of it can be done from laptop and phone, wherever I am - your home, mine, or on holiday together.

We need to be comfortable in the presence of each other.

But please accept that I have limited free time.
Our friendship will, I hope, be deep, even if not wide. Quality more important than quantity.

I would very much prefer you to be less than 60 minutes from Rochester by train or car. But I am willing to travel further if you have special qualities, or you see something good in me, and we get on well together.
Companionship at first, then see how well we harmonize. Start with Walking the Dog along Banks of Green Willow, then maybe a Walk to the Paradise Garden or a visit to The Land of Smiles. Hopefully trips to the coast For Sea Interludes. Let the friendship flow naturally, like the river Vltava.
